By using this site, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy. We may, infrequently, change these practices, but any changes will be posted and changes will only apply to activities and information on a going-forward, not retroactive basis. Websites Not Covered by This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy does not apply to websites maintained by other companies or organizations to which we link, including websites that are operated by our parent or affiliate companies or that are not otherwise a part of the Dreyer’s family of websites (collectively, “third-party sites”).

We encourage you to read the privacy policy of the third-party sites to which you link before you submit any personal information to that site. We are not responsible and disclaim any liability for the independent practices or content of any third-party site.

What We Collect and How We Use It

Personally Identifiable Information

We collect the following personally identifiable information: email addresses. This information is only collected when voluntarily submitted by visitors to help fulfill a specific offer or request. For example: to receive email updates or newsletters about the site, our products and promotions; to send you samples, if offered and requested; to enter a specific sweepstakes or other online promotion; or to respond to a question or issue in a contact or email section. The information you provide is used to fulfill your specific request, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner. For example, when registering for a sweepstakes, you may opt in to receive future information from Dreyer’s.

If you elect to receive information from us, you may receive information by regular mail or email, depending on the information you provided at registration. From time to time, our outbound communications may feature products/services from other reputable organizations, companies or products that may interest you. Your personally identifiable information is not shared with these other companies. All mailings come from Dreyer’s or its agents, who are bound to keep information confidential.

We do not share personally identifiable information collected at this site with third parties, except for the limited instances noted below. The exceptions are:

  • We may share your information with our agents who assist us in administering the site and various programs and promotions. They can only use the information to administer our site and programs. These agents are required to keep your information private and secure.
  • From time to time we may run a joint promotion on this site with another company or organization. At the time of collection, you will always be advised if another company is also collecting information. We recommend you review that company’s privacy policy, and we may provide a link to that company’s privacy policy.
  • Sometimes we run programs featuring another company’s service or products, and you are given the opportunity to opt in to future receipt of information from that company. We recommend you review that company’s privacy policy, and we may provide a link to that company’s privacy policy.
  • We may also disclose personally identifiable information if we are required to comply with laws, or if in our good-faith judgment, such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, to respond to any claims, or to protect the rights of Dreyer’s, its customers and the public.
  • In the event of an acquisition of all or part of Dreyer’s by another company, or in the event that Dreyer’s were to sell or dispose of all or a part of Dreyer’s business, the acquirer would have access to the information maintained by that Dreyer’s business, which could include personally identifiable information, subject to applicable law. Similarly, information may be transferred as part of a reorganization or insolvency proceeding.

Dreyer’s may on occasion combine information we receive with outside records to enhance our consumer profiles for our own marketing purposes.

Cookies

We use cookies to improve the use and functionality of our websites. A “cookie” is a small file or record-keeping device that websites often store on a user’s computer. Storage of cookies on your system provides an easy and convenient way for us to personalize or enhance your experience on our websites and to make your next visit more enjoyable. For example, cookies may remember the content you previously viewed on our sites or the email address and password you provided when registering during an earlier visit to our sites. Using cookies, therefore, may allow us to serve you content tailored to your interests and save you the time of having to re-register or re-enter information when you revisit our sites or try to access certain members-only sections. On some sites, cookies enable us to store your activities, points or high scores. We may also use cookies to lock out underage users from certain activities. We do not use cookies to collect personal information such as your name; however, we may link information contained in a cookie to personal information collected from you by other means (e.g., general website registration). You can always disable cookies or set your browser to alert you when cookies are being sent to your computer; however, if you do so, you may not be able to register on our site or use other features that require registration or the collection of information.

IP Addresses

We may keep track of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to (among other things): (i) troubleshoot technical concerns, (ii) maintain website safety and security, (iii) restrict access to our sites to certain users, and, (iv) better understand how our sites are utilized. An IP address is a number that is used by computers on the network to identify your computer every time you log on to the Internet.

Log Files

We (or a vendor on our behalf) may collect information in the form of logs — files that record website activity and gather statistics about web users’ browsing habits. These entries are generated anonymously and help us gather (among other things): (i) a user’s browser type and operating system, (ii) information about a user’s session (such as the URL they came from, the date and time they visited our site, and which pages they've viewed on our site and for how long), and (iii) other similar navigational or click-stream data. We also use information captured in log files for our internal marketing and demographic studies so we can constantly improve and customize the online services we provide you. Log files are used internally only and are not associated with any particular user.

Web Beacons

We may use web beacons (or clear GIFs) on our websites or include them in the email messages we send you. Web beacons (also known as “web bugs”) are small strings of code that provide a method of delivering a graphic image on a web page or in an email message for the purpose of transferring data back to us. The information collected via web beacons may include some of the information described in the IP Addresses section directly above, as well as information about how a user responds to an email campaign from Dreyer’s (e.g., the time the email is opened, where the user links to from the email, etc.). We use web beacon information for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to site traffic reporting, unique visitor counts, advertising and email auditing and reporting, and personalization.

Agents and Contractors

We may use outside companies, agents or contractors (“vendors”) to provide support for the internal operations of our websites and to assist us with administering the various programs and promotions available on our sites. In the course of doing so, these vendors may come into contact with your personal information. However, we only give them access to (or allow them to collect on our behalf) the information they need in order to perform the specific tasks they’ve been hired to do. They have also agreed to protect the confidentiality and security of this information.

Partners and Joint Promotions

From time to time, we may run a joint or cosponsored program or promotion on our websites with another company, organization or other reputable third party, and, as part of this event, collect and process personal information. If your personal information is being collected by (or is shared with) a company other than Dreyer’s as part of such promotion, we will let you know this at the time your information is collected. Periodically, we may run a promotion on our site that features the products or services of another company and will give you the opportunity to opt in to receive information directly from that third-party company. If any of these promotions is made available to children under 13, we will first obtain verifiable consent from the parent before sharing the child’s information.

When doing any promotion involving another company, we may provide a separate link to that company's privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it before you share any personal information, as we cannot guarantee they adhere to the same privacy practices as Dreyer’s. If you do not want your information to be collected by or shared with a company other than Dreyer’s, you can always choose not to opt in or participate in these events at the time the information is collected/requested.

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to request and receive certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes, and your choices with respect to such disclosures. However, our policy is not to share your personal information with third parties unless you first opt in to such disclosure or are first given the opportunity to opt out. This practice is disclosed in the preceding sections of this privacy policy.

Legal and Business Transfers

We may also disclose personally identifiable information if we are required to do so by law, or if in our good-faith judgment, such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal processes, to respond to any claims or to protect the safety or rights of Dreyer’s, its customers or the public.

In the event of a merger or acquisition of all or part of Dreyer’s by another company, or in the event that Dreyer’s were to sell or dispose of all or a part of the business, the acquirer would have access to the information maintained by that Dreyer’s business, which could include personal information, subject to applicable law. Similarly, personal information may be transferred as part of a corporate reorganization, insolvency proceeding or other similar event, if permitted by and done in accordance with applicable law.

Who is collecting your personal information, and is it shared with anyone?

Aggregate Information

We may share aggregated demographic or survey information with third parties, but this information is in anonymous form and does not contain any personal information. The aggregate information that we share may include anonymous information that is captured through the use of cookies and other similar tracking technology.

Tell a Friend and Electronic Postcards

If you send a friend an email or postcard from this site, the referral information you provide (names and email addresses) is used on a one-time basis to facilitate the communication and is not further retained by Dreyer’s.

Demographic Information and Surveys and Polls

We may ask for demographic or profile (age, gender, household, interests, etc.) information in a survey/poll or at registration. This information is used to assist us in tailoring the site, our communications and our products to visitors and consumers. We may share aggregated demographic and survey information, as opposed to individual information, with third parties.

Security and Opting Out

Dreyer’s uses commercially reasonable efforts to keep personally identifiable information secure. Only authorized Dreyer’s employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information, and only to help Dreyer’s administer its promotional programs and the site. All emails and newsletters from this site allow you to opt out of further mailings.

All information provided is used exclusively for the job application process. If this website does not have a career section, please visit the career section of DreyersInc.com.

Children’s Privacy Policy

We have no intention of collecting information from children at this website, notwithstanding the following: for specific contests or promotions, a child’s first name, email address, birth date and ZIP code may be collected. This information is only collected when voluntarily submitted by visitors to help fulfill the specific entry requirements of the contest (e.g., to determine age eligibility for a contest, to fulfill contest entry, and to collect general geographic data). If you choose not to provide this information, the online contest entry may not be available to you. Online entrants who are children under the age of 13 will not be contacted by Dreyer’s unless the child is a potential winner. Potential winners will be contacted via a one-time email communication, and the child will be instructed to have their parent/legal guardian contact a Dreyer’s representative to provide the child’s home mailing address and telephone number and the email address of the parent/guardian. A Parental Permission Form (“Form”) will be emailed to the parent/legal guardian, which must be completed and signed (indicating approval) and returned by mail or fax to the address/fax number provided on the Form to Sponsor within the time specified by Sponsor. If a Form is not completed and submitted within the specified time, the potential winner will forfeit his/her right to be declared a winner or win a prize. Email addresses of entrants and their parents/legal guardians will be discarded within one (1) year of the contest closing, and will not be utilized in that period of time for any communications from Dreyer’s that do not pertain to the contest. No email addresses will be shared with third parties.
